Accreditations

The broad objectives of CSPs are to encourage local people to adopt their railway stations, working with neighbours, friends and the Train Operating Company to develop the stations as local community assets.

The ethos being to bring people together, support local neighbourhoods, enrich the local community, enhance the passenger experience and develop local economic and social regeneration whilst creating new demand for rail travel.
 

These partnerships are entirely volunteer led and operated and we are working with Investing in Volunteers (IiV) to secure and maintain the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. Achieving this standard will show our volunteers how much they are valued.
 

The process enables us to assess that the Partnership has met the TOCs standards for appropriate operation and quality volunteer management and involvement. To constantly prove and improve the effectiveness of our work with volunteers, and enhance our organisations' reputation covering the principles of:

 

  • Open and effective engagement of the community

  • Transparency and ease of contact of the organisation

  • Work practices that are safe and ethical

  • Wide collaboration with the rail industry and local partners

  • Follows the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion

  • Value for money through volunteer-powered enterprise, efficient and effective partnerships


 

 

The CSPs:

  • The CSPs publish online their governance structures with Terms of Reference and Memorandum and Articles

  • Have financial controls in place for trustee management of funds and dual signatory bank account

  • Work with TOCs to develop annual plans

  • Follow standard policies held by the TOC for:

  • Health & Safety

  • Equality & Diversity

  • Data Protection & Privacy

  • Code of conduct covering volunteers

  • Safeguarding, Volunteering and Risk Management
